You’ve earned your entry level dive certification. What’s next?
Refresher Course - PADI Reactivate
Your dive certification doesn’t expire, but if it’s been a while since you’ve dived and your scuba skills and knowledge are a bit rusty, PADI’s Reactivate program is just the refresher you need. In around three hours it reacquaints you with diving so that you’re back to feeling comfortable in the underwater world. To review the theory that you learned during your original Open Water Diver course, you can either sign up for eLearning, or have a short classroom session with your instructor. Then you’ll practice fundamental scuba skills in confined water before heading out to the reef for an Open Water dive.
PADI Adventure Diver & Advanced Open Water Diver Courses
Adventure Diver and PADI Advanced Open Water Diver courses are the ideal way to gain additional dive skills and experience beyond Open Water Diver Level.
And you can tailor-make your course yourself by choosing which dives you make to meet your specific areas of interest.
For both, you’ll complete the theory for your chosen dives in advance either online via PADI eLearning or in the classroom with your instructor.
Based on the diving here on Grand Cayman, we recommend you choose your specialty dives from the following: AWARE Fish ID, AWARE Coral Reef Conservation, Boat, Deep, Multilevel, Night, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search & Recovery, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation, Digital Underwater Photography, Underwater photography or Wreck Diver.
The specialty dives that you make as part of these courses will count as credit towards corresponding PADI Specialty courses. Collect five PADI Specialties and you’re on your way to becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver, the highest non-professional rating in the PADI educational system.
PADI Adventure Diver
If you’re short of time but want to work towards your Advanced Open Water Diver certification this one-day course, incorporating three specialty dives, is a stepping stone that takes you part way there. And you can continue on to Advanced level at any time by making just two more specialty dives.
Must be an Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver, be medically fit and minimum age 10. Divers under the age of 12 may not choose certain dives.
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
To become a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver you’ll make five specialty dives over two days. Two will be core dives, Deep and Underwater Navigation, and you choose the remainder.
Before diving, you’ll complete the theory for your chosen specialty dives either online via PADI eLearning or in the classroom with your instructor.
Must be an Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver, be medically fit and minimum age 10. Divers under the age of 12 may not choose certain dives.
If you are already certified as a PADI Adventure Diver, you’ll only have to make two more specialty dives to complete your Advanced Open Water Diver rating.
